Today in class, Ms. Sgroi joined us for an AWESOME lesson about the states of matter! Tonight for homework your job is to determine whether Jell-O is a solid or liquid. What do you think?
Click the link below to figure it out! https://www.brainpop.com/science/matterandchemistry/statesofmatter/ In class this week students have been working on a creative thinking activity. Given a brief template, students were asked to create their own dragon. Next, students were asked to write a creative story about their dragon to share with the class. Using the creative story as a guide, students are asked to "guess" which dragon belonged to the story based on the clues! Kids did a great job! Stay tuned for more pics of our amazing dragons!! Spring Break is around the corner! The air is getting warmer, you're beginning to see sandals and swimming suits on display at department stores and your parents are already talking about the places you'll go and the things you'll see on vacation. Even if you are not able to go on a vacation over Spring Break, you can imagine one! That's what this week-long writing assignments aims to do! This week, you will be creating your very own "Destination Magazine." Beginning today, we will begin to think of the categories you may want to include in your magazine, and immerse ourselves in the genre of travel literature. Let's get started with a quick read-aloud. How can you ZOOM in for your readers? Beginning with the cover and ending with all of the delightful places to go, places to stay, food to try, weather to enjoy, and so much more!
THIS LINK will take you directly to "Destination Magazine's" website, where you can explore destination magazines and all they have to offer. Check out THIS magazine! What do you notice? What would you like your magazine to include? Magazines will be posted below for sharing. I can't wait to see what we come up with! |
